When it comes to photography, the lenses you use can make a huge difference in the final result of your images. As photographers, we often develop attachments to certain lenses that become our go-to tools for capturing our vision. For me, I’ve never really fallen for the Sony 55mm 1.8f lens, despite all is qualities.

Despite its small size and light weight, this lens packs quite the punch with its sharpness and overall performance. However, due to my preference for wider focal lengths like 35mm and 28mm, I hardly use my 55mm. But during this photoshoot with Darya, I decided to give this little wonder a chance and see what all the hype was about.

To say that I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement – right from the moment I started clicking pictures with the 55mm lens, I fell in love with it ! The sharpness of each image blew me away and made me question why I hadn’t given this little lens more attention before.

One of my favourite things about using this particular lens is how small and light it is, making it easy to carry around. Low light performance and bokeh is also good considering it’s size.
