More Than A Party

Life has its magical moments when everything aligns to create unforgettable experiences, I believe they call it Serendipity. Picture this: From a friend I had borrowed a Fujifilm X-Pro 2, armed with prime lenses XF 16mm f/1.4 and XF 35mm f/1.4, and I was itching to capture some photographic brilliance. Now, add to the mix the fact that I was staying a few days in the Alba hotel in Paris, a place with a unique history … it used to be a Maison Close (as they say french) in other words .. a brothel !! If you haven’t been there, I recommend you check it out. It’s great for photo shoots.

Anyway … as fate would have it, I was out with friends for a few drinks and the evening took an unexpected turn. Enter Valerie - DJ, model extraordinaire, and the brains behind a small but exciting modelling agency. Did I mention she's an absolute stunner ? Many drinks later, the after-party relocated to my hotel room, not generally recommended … but in this case, exceptions had to be made ! Anyway, let's keep the spicy details behind closed doors, but just imagine these shots were crafted amid a monumental hangover, with me mastering the Fujifilm X-Pro 2 on the fly and the mesmerising Valerie stealing the spotlight in front of my lens.

So here's to serendipity, borrowed cameras, hangover lessons, and impromptu photoshoots in Parisian hotel rooms ! Life is a grand adventure ...
