Paris - Chelsea
Okay, this post was supposed to go up a while back. I had everything prepared and then time slipped away from me as I geared up for a work & road trip in the US.
It's quite something - I've accumulated so many photoshoots that I haven't even had a chance to properly sift through the pictures, let alone pick out the best ones to share with you all. It's almost comical ! Having an abundance of memory space, storage, and camera equipment that rarely misses focus - it leads to an overflow of great shots.
Back in October of last year, Anastasia reached out to me. She was visiting Paris and wanted to shoot. We had a mutual friend who introduced us, but it turns out she had been following my work since the Tumblr days (remember that ?) and on Flickr. Naturally, I was excited, and I met her at her hotel. It was one of those charming Parisian maison close turned boutique hotel - oozing with character, with rooms adorned in vibrant pinks, reminiscent of The Chelsea Hotel in New York. I absolutely loved the vibe.
The room provided the perfect canvas for capturing some truly remarkable images. Anastasia is anything but conventional as a model; she effortlessly strikes incredible poses, hardly pausing to acknowledge the click of the shutter. Consequently, I ended up with well over a thousand photos - 90% of which are outstanding. I've honestly been struggling to narrow down the selection. It took me days of constantly changing my mind before settling on the final picks. But really, what am I complaining about ? This is the best kind of "problem" to have.
Here's a fun tidbit - you may notice she often gazes to the left of the camera in the shots. That's because she had set up a GoPro to document the entire session and her poses.
Anyway, Anastasia is a fantastic model, and she was thrilled with the photos we captured, so I'm hopeful we'll have the chance to shoot together again soon. (Spoiler alert: we did.) Honestly, I don't have much more to add because there's a whole second part to this day, and I'm about to embark on a trip to Milan for both work and leisure. I wanted to share this before I head out. (Editor’s note: lol)
Enjoy !
