X100F Awesomeness
So, after snagging up the old-school Fujifilm X100S (as you my might have seen in the Milan BTS) I discovered it's like having a snail on autofocus. Not the best for shooting people, but oh boy, it looks amazing and feels great in my hands. I was now officially intrigued by the X100 concept, so when a beat-up secondhand X100F came up for sale at a reasonable price, I immediately clicked the buy button β¦ argghhh ! tooo easy to buy online these days ! But no regrets, the X100F is a real step up from the X100S and the autofocus is a breath of fresh air β not Sony A7 IV speedy, but workable. I was now all in on the X1oo wagon.
Excitedly, I brought the X100F to a shoot with Maria, who's not just cute, gorgeous, totally tuned on, but also an engineer !! Brain and beauty, I love it π€
The X100F has some cool tricks, including a leaf shutter, high flash sync speed, and a built-in ND filter. I guess you can already see where Iβm going with this ! Not having spent a lot of time with camera, and not having read the user guide (who does that anyway ?) β¦ well unbeknownst to me, the ND filter was on β giving me a whopping 3 stops reduction, and where was I shooting ? Indoors !
I had put the camera on Auto shutter speed and Auto ISO, being to lazy to play with the manual settings. Fast forward, Maria being the naughty, totally sexy star she is, and me being wayyyy too captivated by her to check settings, the camera hit ISO 3200 and even ISO 6400 on many frames ... Oops!
But you know what ? It wasn't' all that horrific. For such an old camera, the images looks great at high ISO. I've fallen in love with the grainy, analogue film look it produced β a blast from the past and back to 80βs vibe.
I did however finish the shoot with my trusty A7, because I wasn't about to miss a single shot with Maria's cuteness and sexiness in the frame !
